Suman, the 64th Birthday Star who is known as South Indian cinema’s romantic hero of the 1980s and 1990s, has made an enduring impression on the entertainment industry. This multitalented actor, whose career has spanned decades, languages, and genres, was born in Andhra Pradesh on August 28, 1959. He has captivated viewers with his magnetic presence on film. Suman’s story is one of commitment, adaptability, and enthusiasm, from his early days as a leading man to his more recent explorations into a variety of roles.

Childhood and Education

Suman, a Bhillavas by birth, is a member of the Toddy Tapper Community, which includes members of the Goud, Ediga, Nadar, and Ezhva subgroups. His parents, the late Smt. Kesari Chander and Sri Susheel Chander, instilled in him a strong sense of morality and respect for his history. Suman speaks Tulu as his native language and is fluent in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi, reflecting his upbringing in a cosmopolitan environment.

At Church Park Convent in Chennai, where he finished kindergarten, he started his academic career. His abilities began to show themselves when he was a student at The Besant Theosophical High School in Chennai. Suman started his academic career by enrolling at Pachayappas College and pursuing his academic enthusiasm for English literature.
Development in Cinema

In the Tamil movie “Neechal Kulam” from 1977, Suman played the part of a police officer, beginning his relationship with the silver screen. It’s significant that Suman is politically active. He declared his support for the regional Telugu Desam Party (TDP), which was run by Chandra Babu Naidu at the time. Later, in 2004, he and his followers joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), demonstrating his commitment to administration and public service.
