Timothee Chalamet Signs Warner Bros. Deal After Success With Dune and Wonka: Report

Warner Bros. has had consecutive box office triumphs thanks to Timothee Chalamet. The studio is investing more in Chalamet’s company as a result of the success of last December’s Wonka ($632 million global) and this March’s Dune: Part Two ($575 million worldwide and counting). With Chalamet serving as both an actor and producer, the two have signed a multi-year first-look film contract that will allow them to collaborate on future projects.

“Over the last few years, we have admired not only Timothée’s commitment to his craft, which is evident in the range and depth of his varied roles but also his unwavering dedication to give 100 percent of his time and attention to every project he has made here at Warner Bros. and elsewhere,” said a statement from Michael De Luca, co-chair of the motion picture group, and Pamela Abdy, CEO.

According to a Warner Bros. press release, Chalamet is the only actor in over 40 years to have the top two domestic grossing films released in a consecutive eight-month period.

If you’re not aware, a “first look deal” gives a studio the first opportunity to approve or reject concepts from collaborators. It’s similar to calling dibs, to put it simply.

This just means that Chalamet will be working with Warner Bros. more, particularly because he is covered by the contract in both acting and producing capacities.

Chalamet’s income will rise in tandem with his box office performance. Variety claims that the actor earned close to $8 million playing Wonka. He may now anticipate earning double figures from important roles in studio films.

Working on Wonka and Dune alongside Mike De Luca, Pam Abdy, and their teams over the last three years, according to Chalamet, has been a really satisfying experience.

As an actor, producer, and collaborator, he thanked them, stating that they are studio executives that appreciate making high-caliber movies.

He continued by saying that this partnership seemed to be the right course of action.

Chalamet has many notable roles early in his career, including the role of Matthew McConaughey’s kid in Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar.

However, he truly took off with 2017’s Call Me by Your Name, which earned him an Oscar nomination.
