Amid the Israel-Hamas conflict, Italy will sent a medical ship to the Gaza shore

Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto said on Wednesday that his country will deploy a medical ship to assist in treating casualties of the Israel-Hamas fighting off the coast of Gaza.
The minister said that Italy was also attempting to deploy a field hospital to Gaza. The ship is scheduled to depart on Wednesday from the port of Civitavecchia in western Italy, carrying 170 employees, including 30 individuals qualified for medical emergencies.

Crosetto said that the two Italian navy ships that had been sent to the area would probably stay there.

“We will evaluate whether to keep them in the area but I prefer to keep three ships there and not to have any regrets,” Crosetto told the press.

Italy is among the G7’s foreign ministers, and they demanded on Wednesday that the Israel-Hamas conflict cease for humanitarian reasons in order to facilitate the entry of assistance and the hostage-taking process.
