Before setting himself on fire, an airman said, “We have troops in tunnels.”

The US airman Aaron Bushnell, who set himself on fire outside the Israeli embassy earlier this week, said that he was in possession of classified material on the US army’s involvement in the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza. According to a New York Post article, he informed his buddy that US soldiers were engaged in combat in Hamas tunnels under Gaza.

In a “extreme act of protest” against Israel, Bushnell set himself on fire while yelling “Free Palestine” and declaring that he would not take part in the killing of people.

Bushnell was assigned to the 70th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Wing of the Air Force. He boasted to his buddy the day before he passed away that he had “top-secret clearance” for information related to military intelligence.

He informed me on Saturday that US forces are taking part in the murders and that we have troops in those tunnels. Actually, he processes intelligence data for a living. According to the acquaintance, “some of what he was processing had to do with the Israeli Gaza conflict,” the New York Post cited him.

He informed me, among other things, that the US military was complicit in the genocides occurring in Palestine when it came over his desk. He informed me that there were forces under our command, you know, and they were murdering a lot of Palestinians. The companion said, “I can tell you that there was something in his voice tone that indicated me he was afraid.

Although the US Special Operations soldiers are currently in Israel to assist in locating captives, including Americans, abducted by Hamas during the October 7 assault, the White House has consistently said that it would not deploy US troops on the ground in Gaza.

Additionally, the forces are providing Israeli soldiers in Gaza with tactics to locate Hamas militants who may be hidden in tunnels under the surface.

According to a New York Times story, the soldiers are not engaged in combat duties.

Bushnell’s position as an Innovation Services Technician was verified by the Air Force. However, they omitted to mention the extent of his security clearance.
