The US airman Aaron Bushnell, who set himself on fire outside the Israeli embassy earlier this week, said that he was in possession of classified material on the US army’s involvement in the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza. In a “extreme act of protest” against Israel, Bushnell set himself on fire while yelling “Free Palestine” and declaring that he would not take part in the killing of people.

Bushnell was assigned to the 70th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Wing of the Air Force. He boasted to his buddy the day before he passed away that he had “top-secret clearance” for information related to military intelligence.
