India-US are fostering an open Indo-Pacific by strengthening QUAD, according to US Secretary of State Blinken

QUAD (Quadrilateral Security Dialogue): enhancing cooperation with Australia and Japan The Indo-Pacific region is being promoted by the US and India as free, open, and secure. according to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

“We are promoting a free and open, prosperous, secure and resilient Indo-Pacific, including by strengthening our partnership through the QUAD with Japan and Australia,” Blinken said in his opening comments during the sixth 2+2 India-US Ministerial Dialogue in Delhi. Improving marine domain awareness and exchanging commercial satellite data with other nations to increase their capabilities are two important ways we’re doing that.

Blinken said, citing instances, “For instance, to fight illicit drug trafficking, piracy, and phishing. Additionally, we’re arranging for disaster response and humanitarian assistance across the Indo-Pacific region.

He also brought up the June 2018 state visit by Prime Minister Modi to the US.

“Both of our leaders set out a very ambitious agenda to build an even stronger and even more comprehensive strategic partnership that delivers for our people as well as for the region and, we believe, for the world,” Blinken stated. “Together, we have been taking very concrete steps to deliver on the vision that our two leaders put forward.” President Biden hosted Prime Minister Modi at the White House in June.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken called the two nations’ alliance the “strongest ever” as the fifth India-US 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue got underway in New Delhi.

“We need to work with our defense counterparts among other things. I believe it’s another proof of the United States’ unwavering emphasis on the Indo-Pacific, which is our future area. The future is really here, and we’re developing it with India, he said.

India is one of the 12 nations working with the US on the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity, which aims to improve the connectivity, resilience, cleanliness, and equity of the region’s economy. The agreement also includes the QUAD. In addition, India is a participant in the Indian Ocean Rim Association, where the US is a conversation partner.

Since 2018, the United States and India have hosted an annual diplomatic summit known as the 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue. The Indian side is represented by the Minister of External Affairs and the Minister of Defence, while the US side is represented by the Secretaries of State and Defense.

Common concerns between the two nations are the focus of the talks.

The conversation would provide the US and India a forum for high-level talks on important bilateral and international issues, with a focus on the changes taking place in the Indo-Pacific region.
