“Instant Death: A Hyderabadi Man’s Startling Google Search Before He Stabbing His Ex-Girlfriend in the UK”

London: A 25-year-old man of Indian descent was given a 16-year jail term almost two years after murdering his girlfriend there. At a London restaurant in 2022, the accused, Sriram Ambarala, slit the neck of his ex-girlfriend before stabbing her nine times.

According to his search history, he looked up how to “kill a human instantly with a knife” on Google.

At the restaurant where Sona Biju worked, 25-year-old Hyderabadi Sriram Ambarla assaulted the 23-year-old woman he had previously been dating. If she didn’t consent to marry him, he had threatened to murder her.

Biju said that she “did not want to live by his rules” when she rejected his proposal. Then he took her by the neck and gave her many knife wounds. Despite surviving the assault, Biju remained in serious condition in the hospital for a month.

The court was informed that Ambarla conducted internet searches for “How easy is it to kill someone with a knife,” “What happens if a foreigner murders someone in the UK,” and “How to kill a human instantly with a knife” just before launching his assault. Additionally, the court was informed that Ambarla had been physically and emotionally abusing Biju for years via manipulation.

After meeting at a college in Hyderabad, the couple started dating in 2017. They broke up in 2019, but Ambarla continued to manipulate Biju with threats of self-harm. She said that he periodically paid her an unannounced visit and attempted to use blackmail to get her to marry him.

After they both relocated to the UK in 2022, Ambarla would often get in touch with the restaurant where she worked to chat and place food orders in the hopes that they would be delivered to his home.

Ambarla said during questioning that he wanted to be murdered and sent back to India. Ambarla started shoving and screaming as the court prepared to see the CCTV video of the event. He cried, “I can’t see that,” as security guards attempted to stop. I die from it every day. Until recently, I had never seen it. That is not what I want to see. I’ll have nightmares about it.”

In mitigation, Carolina Guiloff said he suffered from a borderline personality disorder, had no prior criminal convictions in the UK or India, and was tormented by sorrow and regret for the shame and suffering he had brought upon his family in India.

Judge Philip Katz said that Ambarla had been the target of his possessive and menacing behavior for a considerable amount of time and that she was aware of his behaviors at the time of the assault. “After you left her on the floor and stabbed her, and the staff attempted to intervene, you deliberately and repeatedly stabbed her.” She did not survive because of you. “She was on the verge of death due to your actions,” Katz said.
