US Passenger Slams Airline For Criticizing Her For Being Braless, Saying “Taliban Not In Charge”

American Lisa Archbold said she received threats to be removed from a US Delta Air Lines aircraft for not wearing a bra. According to an AFP story, she and her lawyer requested a meeting with the company’s top executive on Thursday in order to voice their objections to what she believes to be a discriminatory policy.

According to Lisa Archbold, she was wearing loose white t-shirt and baggy pants without a bra. She was briefly removed off the aircraft by a female gate agent shortly after she boarded, despite the fact that her breasts were not showing, and she was told to cover them.

“I had the impression that I was being given a scarlet letter. In a press conference with her attorney Gloria Allred, 38-year-old Archbold, a professional DJ, said, “I felt it was a spectacle aimed at punishing me for not being a woman in the way she thought I should be a woman as she scolded me outside of the plane.” Salt Lake City, in conservative Utah, is known for its liberal culture.

She said that the Delta representative informed her that her clothing was “offensive” and “revealing,” and that it was against airline policy for anyone to fly in such a manner.

She said the agent informed her she could go with her travel provided she wore a jacket over her t-shirt. Attorney Gloria Allred claimed that on behalf of Archbold, she had written to Delta, requesting a meeting with the president of the business to talk about the discriminatory policy.

It is not mandatory for male travelers to conceal their t-shirts with a shirt or a jacket. Women shouldn’t be required to wear bras either, just as males are not required to wear them in order to board or stay on an aircraft. “As of last check, Delta is not under the Taliban’s control,” the woman said.

Allred said that while US federal regulations permit airlines to evacuate people who pose a danger to the safety or security of the aircraft or its occupants, Archbold’s situation was obviously not one of such cases.

Her breasts have never attempted to seize control of an aircraft, nor have the breasts of any other woman. It’s not illegal for a woman or girl to have breasts, and they are not weapons of mass destruction, according to Allred.

The lawyer said that a lawsuit was not in the works at this time and that all she and Archbold needed was a meeting with the president of Delta to get guarantees that their rules would be revised.

A corporate spokeswoman responded to questions from AFP by saying, “Earlier this year, Delta representatives contacted this customer with an apology.”
