Prez Zardari of Pakistan says he will not be paid, citing the country’s economic problems

ISLAMABAD In an effort to relieve the nation’s financial strain and spare the public coffers, Pakistan’s recently elected President Asif Ali Zardari said on Tuesday that he would not receive a salary while in office.

The 2018 parliament set Arif Alvi’s salary at Rs 8,46,550 per month, the former president’s salary. Among the wealthiest politicians in the nation is Zardari.

Following suit, Mohsin Naqvi, the interior minister, chose not to receive a salary while in government.
