COVID-19: India registers 237 new cases, but the number of current cases drops to 3,502

According to the Union health ministry, India had an increase of 237 new COVID-19 cases in a single day, despite a decrease in the number of active cases to 3,502.

According to statistics from the ministry updated at 8 am on Saturday, the number of people who have died as a result of the viral sickness has increased to 5,31,878 with four additional deaths, including two confirmed by Kerala.

More than 4.49 billion instances of Covid were reported (4,49,91,380).

According to the health ministry website, the national recovery rate has been reported at 98.81 percent, and the active cases now make up 0.01 percent of all infections.

4,44,56,000 persons had recovered from the illness, surpassing the 4.44 billion mark, and the case fatality rate was 1.18 percent.

The website for the ministry reports that as of this writing, the national immunisation campaign had provided 220.66 crore doses of the Covid vaccine.
