Six additional BJD candidates are named for the Assembly votes

Bhubaneswar: Six additional candidates for the Assembly elections were named by the Biju Janata Dal on Monday.

Sarada Prasanna Jena from Balikuda-Ersama, Biswaranjan Mallick from the Bari Assembly seat, and Dhenkanal MP Mahesh Sahoo from the Hindol Assembly sector are the candidates put forth by BJD president Naveen Patnaik.

Tusharkanti Behera, the minister of sports, was renominated by the BJD from the Puri district’s Kakatpur Assembly sector. Naveen sent a BJD nomination offer to the spouses of Sudam Marndi and Subrat Tarai, two current MLAs. The ticket for Marndi’s wife, Ranjita Marndi, came from Bangiripossi, whereas the ticket for Tarai’s wife Archanarekha Behera, came from Rathunathpali.

Out of the 147 Assembly seats, the BJD has already revealed the identities of 141 candidates with the publication of six names.
