Notes about college: Women’s SDP college

Ludhiana: The SDP College for Women’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Cell threw a grandiose “Baisakhi Mela” on the campus. The celebration was given a touch of cultural appeal by the teaching staff and students, who were dressed in traditional Punjabi garb. They also wore colorful phulkaris.

The principle, Dr. Neetu Handa, gave the event her opening. Students put up booths where they sold a variety of delectable culinary items and homemade things, including jewelry, textiles, mehndi, and cosmetics. Additionally, hours of entertainment were offered by amusing game booths like balloon dart, cup games, and ring tossing.

Kamla Lohtia SD

First-semester Post Graduate Diploma in International Business (PGDIB) students of Kamla Lohtia SD College won awards for the college for doing very well in the semester test administered by Punjab University, Chandigarh, in December 2023. With 512 out of 600, Purvee Dhanuka took first place in the university. With 509 out of 600 points, Jai Kanojia took second place in the university, while Gaurav Malhotra finished third with 503/600 points. The principal, Dr. Mohd Saleem, commended the pupils on their accomplishment.

Women’s college Khalsa

The college auditorium of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, hosted the 61st annual award presentation event on Wednesday. The main visitor was Gursharan Singh Sandhu, the IG of Faridkot. The honoree was Dr. Simrit Kahlon, dean of Punjab University’s student welfare department. The annual report, according to acting principal Dr. Iqbal Kaur, was given, showcasing the many accomplishments and activities of the institution.

Notes from the Victoria Public School

As Dr. Jatin Bhakoo from Ahmedgarh addressed the event as the keynote speaker, Victoria Public School in Lehra was lit with insights and ideas in honor of World Homeopathy Day. The incident clarified the value and applicability of homoeopathy in contemporary society. Dr. Bhakoo enthralled the audience with his talk on the critical role that homeopathy plays in promoting well-being and encouraging a healthy lifestyle. He is a highly knowledgeable and passionate advocate for holistic therapy.

BCM fundamental phase

On National Pet Day, BCM Foundational Stage, Chandigarh Road, commemorated the value of animals in our life. While LKG and UKG students used their oratory talents to communicate their passion for pets, nursery children utilized their craft skills to make cats as a way of expressing their sentiments. The headmistress, Ritu Syal, advised people to treat dogs with kindness since they show us unconditional love and care.

DAV Public School

Eleven medical students from DAV Public School on Pakhowal Road took part in the 2024 Mission Swasth Kavach Workshop, which was arranged by City Needs in association with Dayanand Medical College and Hospital at the Hero DMC Heart Institution’s DUMRA Auditorium. The workshop’s main emphasis was on hypertension, a serious condition with wide-ranging effects on public health. Dr. Gurpreet Singh Wander, principal of DMC, and Dr. Bishav Mohan, head of cardiology at Hero DMC Heart Institution, presented student Tarushi Chabbra with a trophy and certificate for demonstrating her accuracy in taking her blood pressure.

Springdale Play School

The children of Springdale Play School, GK Estate, Chandigarh Road, joyfully and fervently celebrated the colorful celebration of Baisakhi to mark the beginning of the harvest season. As they proudly displayed the rich Punjabi culture by dressing in traditional Punjabi costume, the students’ faces lit up with happiness. The children’s mesmerizing performances of Punjabi traditional dances elevated the celebrations even more.

Dr. R.C. Jain School, Drishti

A field excursion to the nearby fields was taken by the Inclusive Wing kids of Drishti Dr RC Jain Innovative Public School. The initiative’s goals include providing students with first-hand agricultural experience and teaching them about the crops grown by a number of progressive farmers. Due to its widespread production and great nutritional value, wheat is a cereal crop that the professors educated the pupils about. Additionally, the students discovered that although wheat can grow in a range of soil types and temperatures, temperate zones are ideal for it.

BCM University

BCM School, Basant Avenue, Dugri, demonstrated its dedication to raising awareness of mental health issues among teenagers by holding a campaign at Government School, Phullawal. RiseUp4Peace, a program of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), served as the umbrella organization for this effort. Student-made models aided in starting an insightful discussion about the topic.

With interactive sculptures that portrayed the mental health journey and visually striking artwork that showcased good coping techniques, the exhibition effectively showcased the students’ ingenuity and commitment to raising awareness about a noteworthy topic.
