1 Terrorist Killed as Infiltration Attempt Fails Along the LoC in J-K’s Kupwara

In the Kupwara area of Jammu and Kashmir, the Army on Sunday thwarted an attempt at infiltration while killing one terrorist, according to the police.

A police spokeswoman said that after receiving information regarding potential infiltration efforts, the police and Army together conducted a cordon and search operation in the Dakhen-Amrohi region of the Tangdhar Sector in Kupwara.

“We noticed terrorists moving about while attempting to enter our side during the search operation. One terrorist was neutralized when they faced off against them, according to the combined party, he added.

Two to three other terrorists were able to flee back to the Pakistani side of the Line of Control by taking advantage of the dense shrubs and difficult terrain, according to the spokesman.

“By neutralizing a terrorist on the Line of Control in the Amrohi region of Tangdhar Sector, the Army and Kupwara police in a combined operation thwarted an infiltration attempt. Arms, ammo, and incriminating materials were found. Current search operation. Additional information will be provided, the police said.

According to the police spokesman, it is suspected that the terrorist who was killed was a citizen of Pakistan based on the evidence that was found at the scene of the encounter.

An AK rifle, an AK magazine, 15 AK rounds, 5 9mm pistols, 1 15mm pistol, 8 pistol magazines, and 32 9mm pistol bullets are among the weapons and ammunition confiscated.

The spokesman said that “the recovery of these materials highlights the nefarious intentions of the infiltrators and their attempts to disturb peace and stability in the region.”
