136 complaints were reported on C-vigil app in Jalandhar

While the Lok Sabha election campaign is still in its early stages, C-vigil applications are being inundated with complaints of purported transgressions of the model code of conduct.

Information indicates that between March 16 and April 11, the administration received 136 complaints via the C-vigil app. Jalandhar North accounted for the most complaints (30), followed by Jalandhar Cantonment (24), Jalandhar West (23), and Jalandhar Central (23). There were 13 complaints from Kartarpur, 11 from Phillaur, 5 from Adampur, 4 from Nakodar, and 3 from Shahkot.

According to authorities, Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) have addressed every complaint within the allotted 100 minutes, and there are now no outstanding issues. Furthermore, the majority of the complaints that were received had to do with political party flags and hoardings.

In addition to the administration teams, four teams from the Municipal Corporation were patrolling the streets in accordance with the model code of behavior to prevent vandalism on both public and private property. The four constituencies—West, Central, North, and Cantt—were served by these teams. Since the policy was put into place, some 2,000 pieces of promotional material have been taken out of public spaces.

In addition to the C-vigil app, the District Administrative Complex now has a complaint cell established up by the administration, according to ADC Jasbir Singh. He said that handling these concerns has taken precedence, and that users are urged to report any infractions pertaining to the model code of behavior on the app in order to get prompt resolution.
