A Bengaluru-based Business Contributes Rs. 1.5 Crore to Erode Government School Through the “Namma School” Program

Under the State government’s “Namma School – Namma Ooru Palli” program, a Bengaluru-based company has given Rs 1.5 crore to help the Government Higher Secondary School in Nanjappa Goundan Valasu in Bengaluru with the construction of classrooms. The initiative, which will begin in December 2022, intends to enhance government schools’ infrastructure with private assistance.

The Hindu sources state that the institution opened as an elementary school in 1963. Later, in 1985, it was converted to a middle school, and in 2011, it was elevated to a high school. The school was recognized as a higher secondary school by 2021.

There were reportedly not enough classrooms at the school to house the more than 650 kids enrolled in Classes 6 through 12. There were only 12 classrooms available compared to the required total of 21, which made it difficult to provide a suitable education. Parents and kids were also calling for the building of more classrooms in addition to that.

At this juncture, a fresh glimmer of hope materialized in the form of Alice Blue Financial Services Private Limited under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The organization said that it would be willing to build the school’s nine classrooms, a compound wall, and restrooms.

After that, the relevant authorities granted permission to begin building as soon as possible. On Sunday, the construction’s foundation stone was deposited. The group chief executive officer of Alice Blue Financial Services Private Limited, M Sidhavelayutham, who is originally from Poondurai Semur village in Modakkurichi taluk, headmaster of the school N Rajesh, president of the Parents Teachers Association Subramanian, representatives from the Samagra Shiksha scheme department, president of the School Management Committee Mahalakshmi, council members, and parents of the students were present to grace the occasion during the laying of the foundation stone.

In addition, the corporation already paid a total of Rs 1.29 crore to give smart boards, PCs, printers, and other necessary educational supplies to 32 government schools in the Modakkurichi taluk area in April. While some schools received seats and tiles, the majority of the schools received smart boards, computer tables, PCs, printers, and almirahs. Additionally, Alice Blue Financial Services Private Limited painted a few schools.

For those who are unaware, the Namma School Foundation was established by Chief Minister MK Stalin in December 2022 via the School Education Department. Funds for the construction of schools in the State are acquired under this initiative from businesses as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Donors may make donations in accordance with the list of needs for each school on the official website, nammaschool.tnschools.gov, to help with the procurement of necessary supplies.
