A cyclothon and bike rally were held to raise voter awareness

Hubballi: As part of a voter awareness event at Tolanakere Garden here on Sunday, the District SVEEP committee, district administration, Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC), and social welfare department organized a bike rally and cyclothon with the theme “Namma Nade Matagatte Kade.”

Deputy commissioner Divya Prabhu GRJ declared the program’s opening: “Voters can use BLOs to verify if their name is on the voters’ list.”

Essential basic amenities, including drinking water, wheelchairs, pandals, waiting areas, and Braille systems, have been installed at voting places for the comfort of voters. There will be distinct lines for females and expectant mothers. One may use Google Maps to get information about the location of their voting booth by scanning a QR code, the speaker said.

Swaroopa TK, the chief executive officer of the zilla panchayat, said that voting should be mandatory for everybody. “Vote to preserve democracy and our nation.The North Karnataka election is set for May 7. This event should be attended by everyone, she said. Ishwar Ullagaddi, the commissioner of the HDMC, was there, among others.

As part of the campaign, on Sunday, the “Chunavana Parva Deshada Garva” flag was simultaneously raised at all 1,660 voting places in the district. At KIMS Hospital in Hubballi’s voting station No. 109, the deputy commissioner raised the flag.
