AAP calls the EC the BJP’s “extended wing.”

The Election Commission (EC) quickly removed the Aam Aadmi Party’s social media post, which sought to shine light on the BJP’s electoral bond “scandal,” from X, according to the party on Wednesday. This left the AAP with no room to notify the public about the matter. The party said that this poll body decision implies that the EC is functioning as the BJP’s “extended wing.”

The dispute, according to the AAP, started with a post on its official account explaining how Sarath Reddy, whom the ED had previously named as the “kingpin” of the purported liquor policy fraud, gave the BJP Rs 60 crore using electoral bonds.

“The BJP finances clearly show the money route. Concurrently, the situation is exacerbated by the BJP’s vigorous social media and billboard campaigns that use disparaging language to attack Arvind Kejriwal. The party alleged that “no meaningful action has been taken to address these grievances despite filing over nine complaints with the EC.”

Priyanka Kakkar, the national spokeswoman for the AAP, said that the fact that the EC is now acting as the BJP’s “extended wing” is regrettable for the nation. Through its alliance with the BJP, the EC has come to see itself as superior to the nation’s laws and constitution. The AAP leader said that even terrorists have a right to be heard under the laws of the nation.

Nevertheless, the Election Commission told social media site ‘X’ to take down our message immediately, saying they didn’t think it was essential. Speaking to the media, Kakkar added, “X also expressed deep regret in writing that our post was being removed.”

Additionally, Kakkar showed the reporters an AAP post on electoral bonds that “X” had purportedly erased. Kakkar questioned the act, asking, “What’s wrong with this? All of the information in this article is true. According to it, the electoral bond was a fraud. The same Sarath Reddy, who the BJP had before identified as the “kingpin” of the purported “South liquor lobby,” is said to have given the party Rs 60 crores via electoral bonds.

“BJP initially demanded Rs 60 crore from him, after which it turned him into a government witness. Next up was a statement from Sarath Reddy criticizing CM Kejriwal. The electoral bond provides a transparent financial trail for the Rs 60 crore. During Reddy’s bail application, the ED said nothing; we were urged to conceal the facts, she said.

“We have filed over nine complaints, one after the other, with the EC against the BJP,” Kakkar said. We have often voiced our concerns with the BJP’s posters and hoardings, but nothing has been done as of yet.
