AAP said that Bansuri, the BJP candidate, represented “anti-national powers” in court

On Sunday, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) severely criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for selecting Bansuri Swaraj as their candidate for the Lok Sabha constituency in New Delhi.

Senior AAP leader and Cabinet Minister for Delhi, Atishi, criticized the BJP for consistently fielding unqualified candidates who, if they happen to win, disappear from the public eye. “The BJP has a pattern where they first offer tickets to worthless individuals and then, five years later, claim that the candidate was incorrect and that the party is to blame, therefore, we are replacing the candidate. She said, “They do this to trick people.

Atishi brought up the replacement of four Delhi MPs: Meenakshi Lekhi from New Delhi, Dr. Harsh Vardhan from Chandni Chowk, Parvesh Verma from West Delhi, and Ramesh Bidhuri from South Delhi.

“Bansuri Swaraj has defended fugitive Lalit Modi in court on multiple occasions. He fled the country after embezzling lakhs of crores of rupees,” the statement said. She regularly represented Lalit in court from 2012 to 2014, taking his passport case all the way up to the Supreme Court and the High Court. Before the Division Bench issued its ruling, he left with his passport and hasn’t been seen since. Notably, Lalit Modi tweeted his gratitude to Bansuri Swaraj for her legal counsel.

“In a different incident, Bansuri acted as the Central Government’s representative in the Supreme Court for the BJP-led government when violence broke out in Manipur and two women were stripped and displayed. She is now trying to get female voters in the New Delhi Lok Sabha seat.

She also brought up Bansuri Swaraj’s support of the Chandigarh Mayor, who was chosen in a rigged election; this was referred to as a “murder of democracy” by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

Atishi said, “Bansuri has to apologize to the nation for these acts.”

“Today, I urge the BJP to reevaluate its choice of candidate for New Delhi on behalf of the people of Delhi. If this isn’t done, it will demonstrate that the BJP is anti-democratic, anti-women, and anti-national,” Atishi said.

AAP chief Somnath Bharti, meanwhile, stated: “I would want to draw attention to the situation involving Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Our female wrestlers, who have earned gold for the nation, were humiliated in front of the whole country. Despite going through all of that to oppose individuals such as Brij Bhushan, the BJP did not attempt to remove him. He claimed it was astonishing that Bansuri, of all people, had represented Brij Bhushan in that particular matter. Atishi went on to say that Dr. Harsh Vardhan’s ticket was canceled because of his honesty.
