agitation over Jharkhand civil service exam paper leak

Prior to the test in Chatra, Dhanbad, and Jamtara, the candidates for the Jharkhand Public Services Commission (JPSC) Civil Services (PT) test claimed to have leaked exam materials.

On social media, a video of applicants in Jamtara supposedly completing their OMR papers while seated on the ground outside of their test rooms went viral. In Chatra and Dhanbad, exam candidates also protested, claiming that the question papers’ seal had already been broken before they were delivered to them. Numerous applicants also claimed that the quantity of their OMR sheets and question papers did not match.

Nonetheless, the claims have been refuted by the principal of Chatra’s Upendra Nath Verma Inter College. The Commission hasn’t acknowledged the report or made any statements about the purported document leak as of yet.

After word of the purported paper leak circulated among the pupils, a few of them were unable to show up for the test. Chief BJP of the state, Babulal Mrandi, took a strong stance against the Champai Soren government, claiming that competitive exams had turned into a source of revenue for the present administration.

“The JSSC-CGL test was recently held, however it was canceled at that time because of a paper leak. The Jharkhand government has clearly turned JPSC, like JSSC, into a method of making money based on the manner the paper was leaked during today’s test, Marandi on X said. As a result, he made a plea to the young people of Jharkhand, saying that he would need their help to overthrow this corrupt administration.

Marandi promised that the BJP administration will guarantee examination malpractice-free environments, protect young rights, and imprison corrupt individuals on a case-by-case basis as soon as it was constituted.

Amar Kumar Bauri, the Leader of Opposition in the Jharkhand Assembly, further said that their hopes had been dashed by the Champai government’s hurried and ill-prepared JPSC test, along with a devious effort to sell seats. He expressed regret that Jharkhand has examinations and that the test papers are often leaked.

A three-person Special Investigation team has been formed by the Jamtara Deputy Commissioner to investigate the situation. A case involving a viral video on the JPSC (PT) test surfaced today. Jamtara DC Kumud Sahay announced the formation of a Special Investigation Team, which is led by Deputy Development Commissioner Niranjan Kumar and consists of two members: Project Director, ITDA Jugnu Minj, and Sub-Divisional Director General of Police Vikas Anand Languri.

JPSC stays silent

Regarding the charges of anomalies in the examination, JPSC has remained silent. All that one of its representatives stated was that they have the information and are investigating. He said that the JPSC website would be updated with any developments. The task assigned to the investigating team is to confirm the legitimacy of the widely shared video.
