At Talcher, NTPC’s Kanhia power facility catches fire

Fire department authorities said that on Saturday, a fire broke out at NTPC’s Kaniha facility in the Angul district of Odisha.

According to them, the facility in the Talcher neighborhood of the district had a fire in its coal-transporting conveyor belt about 8:10 a.m.

They claimed that no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

The CISF fire wing and plant catastrophe team promptly reacted to the fire call, according to a statement from the NTPC.

It said that the fire has been completely put out and that no injuries have been reported.

According to the NTPC statement, “No one has received any injuries aside from minor first aid to one CISF personnel during fire fighting,” and “Unit-3 of 500 MW was taken under shutdown for a brief period of time as a precautionary measure to contain the fire.” But soon, the same will be available in bars. Every other device is operating normally.”

An NTPC official said that the required repair work would be started shortly and that the source of the fire and damage is now being evaluated.

The NTPC was grateful for prompt assistance from all state and district agencies, including the fire and police departments.

According to the fire services personnel, the fire caused damage to a section of the conveyor belt.

Two firefighters were sent to put out the fire.
