Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee: The BJP is attempting to silence the voice of opposition in the Kejriwal arrest row

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee launched a scathing attack on the Centre on Wednesday, alleging that it was plotting to arrest all opposition leaders before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and cast ballots for themselves in a “empty country.” The attack was in response to Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) summons to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with a money-laundering case related to an excise policy.

“They (the BJP) are attempting to silence every opposition party before of the elections of next year. In order to cast their own ballots in a nation that is empty, they want to detain all opposition leaders before to election day. At the state secretariat, Banerjee said reporters, “They are brewing up a conspiracy.”

Issue of MGNREGA Fund
In addition, Chief Minister Banerjee persisted in pressing the Central Government to disburse MGNREGA money that belong to West Bengal and prolonged the deadline her party set for November 1 till November 16.

She stated that in regards to the question of MGNREGA money that are owed to the state, Governor CV Ananda Bose has committed to pursuing it with the Center.

“Though nothing has transpired so far, this was the final day. We shall announce our next line of action if the MNEGRA dues are not paid by November 16,” Banerjee said.

The leader of the Trinamool Congress indicated that her party will meet to deliberate on its next move on the matter on November 15 at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in the city.
