Cheerag Yojana: 42 private institutions in Sirsa have 3,730 seats available

Through the “Cheerag Yojana,” district residents who are economically disadvantaged in classes IV through XII at government schools may realize their desire to attend private schools during the 2024–2025 academic year.

42 private schools had 3,730 places available in total. Applications are accepted until April 10th. Notably, a few Sirsa City private schools have chosen not to take part. This session, private schools have lowered one class, with enrollment beginning with Class IV. Applications were originally due on March 31; however, the deadline was extended because of the Education Department’s hold-up in disclosing the actual number of seats. Students now have until April 10 to apply to private schools in their area.

With twelve schools allotted, the Ellenabad area has the most seats, while the Dabwali and Odhan regions have the fewest (two schools each). The initiative’s goal is to provide economically disadvantaged kids with equitable access to education and support.

According to Buta Ram, the District Elementary Education Officer of Sirsa, the Cheerag Yojana’s private school admissions process has started. Students have until April 10 to apply. The Education Department has announced a timetable on admissions under the Chirag Yojana, according to Gyan Singh, the District Education Officer of Sirsa. A complaint should be filed with the department if any private school places obstacles in the way of applicants.

The child’s parents’ yearly income must be Rs. 1 lakh 80 thousand or less in order to qualify for the Cheerag Yojana. In addition, the student had to have finished the school year at a government institution.

Only seats that are still available at reputable private schools in their present area will be open to students. They are able to submit admissions applications to many schools in that area. The child’s family identification number must be provided.
