Cross-Border Love: Pakistani Woman Travels to India to Wed Kolkata Guy

This is just another instance of love that has no bounds. Pakistani lady Javeria Khanum is getting ready to tie the knot with her boyfriend, Kolkata resident Sameer Khan. Khanum lawfully entered India on Tuesday at the Attari-Wagah border, making this another example of a cross-border love tale.

Khanum, a native of Karachi, entered the Indian side from Attari in the Amritsar area, where she was greeted by the sounds of “dhol” by her fiancĂ© and a few members of his family. For the lovers, it was not an easy voyage. After Khanum’s two prior visa applications were allegedly denied, their plans were put on hold because of the Covid epidemic. She has finally been given a 45-day visa to marry her fiancĂ© after almost five years of waiting.

“I am overjoyed and would want to express my sincere gratitude to the Indian government for allowing me to remain here. For the last five years, we have been together. In the end, after much effort, we were able to get a visa. A 45-day visa has been given to me,” Khanum told ANI.

In a previous instance of a similar love tale, Seema Haider, a Pakistani lady, traveled to India to live with Sachin Meena, whom she had become friends with via an internet game and ultimately fell in love with. However, the central intelligence services requested an investigation on Haider, who traveled from Karachi, Pakistan, to Noida via Nepal via Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and Uttar Pradesh Police.

Senior officials affirmed that the authorities were made aware of Haider’s unauthorized and unlawful travel to India for the purpose of getting married and moving in with her boyfriend, and they requested an extensive report from the SSB and UP Police. After that, the pair moved into a Greater Noida apartment together. But on July 4, Haider was taken into custody for entering India without a valid visa, and Meena was jailed for providing sanctuary to undocumented immigrants.
