Delhi NCR: An experimental Namo Bharat train service was run from Duhai to Modi Nagar

An experimental run of the Namo Bharat train was carried out on Sunday from Duhai to Modi Nagar South, after the start of the 17-kilometer priority portion of the Regional Rapid Transit System covering Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut.

The train left the Duhai station, arrived at Murad Nagar station, and then traveled another 12 kilometers or so to Modi Nagar South.

“A trial run of the track and traction is now being conducted by the Namo Bharat trains. Under the Train Control Management System, the train is first run manually. The train traveled at a slow pace from Muradnagar station to Modi Nagar South. Later on, with a little speed increase, it was returned to Duhai, according to a statement from the National Capital Region Transport Corporation.

Following the priority segment, the 25 km length of the corridor between Duhai and Meerut South RRTS station would be made public.

Murad Nagar, Modi Nagar North, Modi Nagar South, and Meerut South are the four stations of the sector.

“The last span was installed in June, marking the completion of the viaduct’s construction up to Meerut South. Since then, this section’s construction projects have advanced quickly, according to the NCRTC, including track laying, OHE installation, signaling and communication, and electrical work.

According to the public venture, the rail laying construction is almost finished, while other projects are nearing completion. On October 20, the Namo Bharat train was launched in the 17-kilometer priority segment between Sahibabad and Duhai Depot by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
