Elections to the Lok Sabha: BJP approaches the Madras High Court as the police refuse to allow PM Modi’s Coimbatore roadshow

Following the police’s refusal to provide permission for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadshow in Coimbatore on March 18, the Tamil Nadu unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party filed a petition in the Madras High Court on Friday.

Both the state government and the BJP have ended their arguments, and Justice N Anand Venkatesh’s decision is anticipated soon.

The police rejected the BJP’s request for a 4-kilometer roadshow featuring the prime minister in Coimbatore, citing security concerns and the upcoming public exams.
