Kerala has 2.77 crore voters that are able to cast ballots

In the next Lok Sabha elections, the state’s 2.77 crore voters may cast their ballots.

The Chief Electoral Officer’s office in Kerala revealed the final results on Friday after an examination of the enrollment applications received until March 25.

There was a 6.49 lakh increase in voters from the final electoral roster that was made public on January 22. After verification, 2.01 lakh voters were deleted from the records, while the number of young voters in the 18–19 age bracket increased to 5.34 lakh.

There are 1.34 crore male voters, 1.43 crore female voters, and 367 transgender voters on the voter roll. In the electoral register, the ratio of men to women was 1000:1068.

With 33.93 lakh voters, Malappuram is the district with the most, while Wayanad has the fewest, with 6.35 lakh. The highest number of transgender voters is 94 in Thiruvananthapuram.

Kozhikode had the highest number of foreign voters in the state with 35,793, out of 89,839 total. 6.27 lakh of the total eligible voters fall within the 80 years and older age group.

The final voter list was made available at the relevant BLOs, taluk and village offices, and on the CEO (Kerala) website on January 22. Individuals who were unable to register for the final roll have until March 25 to do so.

Following BLO verification, entries that were identical in terms of demographics and photos were eliminated from the electoral register as part of the “purification” process. Under the direction of the assistant returning officers, special teams were established to verify the electoral register. Before deleting the names of the voters from the electoral record, the BLOs went to their homes, identified the dead, and permanently moved the voters.
