Large amounts of lahan were taken from two villages in the Manda region in Tarn Taran

In a significant operation against illegal alcohol, the Excise Department and the district police collaborated in Marar village, which is under the jurisdiction of the Harike police station, and Shakri village, which is under the jurisdiction of the Sarhali police station, in the Mand region. On Monday, they confiscated a significant amount of lahan.

The police and members of the paramilitary forces initiated the cordon and search operation (CASO), according to Ashwani Kapur, SSP, and Inderjit Singh Sehzra, Excise and Taxation Officer.

They said that 1,51,850 liters of lahan had been found in both places. According to him, two complaints under Sections 61, 1 and 14 of the Excise Act were filed against individuals engaged in the illegal liquor brewing business. They said that the suspects were Bitu and his wife Rani, who lived in Shakri village, Kulbir Singh, who lived in Kirian village, and Rajwinder Singh and Ranjit Singh Rana, who lived in Marar village. There were two people engaged in the crime whose identities were unknown. No one had yet been apprehended for the suspects.
