Madhya Pradesh Elections 2023: Rajendra Shukla and Jagdish Devda are sworn in as deputies, while Mohan Yadav takes the oath of office as chief minister

Madhya Pradesh Elections 2023: At Bhopal’s Lal Parade Ground on Wednesday, lawmaker Mohan Yadav of the Bharatiya Janata Party took the oath of office as the state’s next chief minister. Two other MLAs were sworn in as deputy chief ministers. At 11.30 a.m., Governor Mangubhai C. Patel conducted the swearing-in event, during which Yadav took the oath of office in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and other state chief ministers headed by the Bharatiya Janata Party.

As deputy chief ministers, Rajendra Shukla and Jagdish Devda were sworn in, while Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar, a former union minister, will take up his position. BJP national president JP Nadda, government Home Minister Amit Shah, chief ministers of Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami, as well as other top party officials and government ministers, were among the dignitaries in attendance.

With the backing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Yadav has been appointed as the 19th Chief Minister of the state and the fifth BJP chief minister, after Sunderlal Patwa, Uma Bharti, Babulal Gaur, and Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Yadav said earlier in the day that Madhya Pradesh will lead the nation in the same manner as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while considering his vision for the state. I am devoted to advancing the state and realizing the dreams of the millions of Madhya Pradesh residents since I am from the country of King Vikramaditya. The excellent government that was present during King Vikramaditya’s reign will continue to exist.

By winning 163 out of 230 seats in the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections of 2023, the BJP eliminated all anti-incumbency concerns. In his home seat of Ujjain Dakshin, the newly appointed Chief Minister emerged victorious with 95,699 votes, gaining by a margin of 12,941. In the recently ended Assembly elections from Malhargarh, Jagdish Dewda triumphed, while Rajendra Shukla won from Rewa.
