Maharashtra: Uddhav Dares BJP to Finish Him, Claims Bal Thackeray’s Blessings, People

Uddhav Thackeray, the leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT), challenged the Bharatiya Janata Party to defeat him and said he had the support of the populace and his late father, Bal Thackeray.

Thackeray questioned how the BJP could claim credit for building the Ram Temple in Ayodhya while refusing to accept blame for demolishing the Babri Masjid there in 1992 in an interview with party publication Saamana’s executive editor Sanjay Raut.

The former Maharashtra chief minister said that the Supreme Court was responsible for settling the Ram temple dispute in the second portion of the interview, which was published in Saamana on Thursday. “If you want to defeat me, go ahead. Check it out. Attacking the BJP, Thackeray said, “I have the support of my father and the people.

Additionally, Thackeray emphasized that “this is Hindutva” and said that “his country is his family.” Thackeray said that he disagreed with renegade Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and deputy chief minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar’s suggestion that NCP supremo Sharad Pawar should step down because of his advanced age.

Such utterances, according to the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader, are against Maharashtrian tradition. On July 2, Ajit Pawar joined the Eknath Shinde administration together with eight other MLAs, including Chhagan Bhujbal, Hasan Mushrif, and Dilip Walse Patil.

The leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT) also stated that late Bal Thackeray, who founded the organization, had rescued Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and he questioned if assaulting him was the proper way to repay a favor. The Shiv Sena (UBT) often asserts that Bal Thackeray prevented the removal of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi during the riots there in 2002 by speaking to BJP veteran and then-deputy prime minister LK Advani.
