Omraje and Sawant’s verbal sparring becomes more intense in Osmanabad

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: During the current Lok Sabha campaign, there has been a more heated exchange of words between Omraje Nimbalkar, the incumbent Shiv Sena (UBT) MP from Osmanabad, and public health minister Tanaji Sawant.

Sawant, a member of the Sena faction headed by Chief Minister Ekanth Shinde, launched a new assault on Omraje for persistently bringing up the subject of his father’s death.

“He says, ‘My father was killed,’ every time.'” What’s the purpose of this? “People voted for you to be an MP, not to keep bringing up the issue,” Sawant said during an election rally in Barshi, which is part of the Osmanabad constituency in the Solapur district.

In 2006, Pawanraje Nimbalkar, Omraje’s father, was killed. An accused in the case is Padamsinh Patil, a seven-term MLA and former NCP MP, whose daughter-in-law, Archana, is a BJP candidate running for the Osmanabad Lok Sabha.

Sawant had already said that Omraje and his late father were destined to bring ruin to the regional cooperative organizations.

Then, Omraje struck back without holding back, declaring, “I defeated Padmasinha Patil and his son.” Sawant is only a little fish.

The current MP had also cautioned the Sena leader from adopting his father’s name. He has not yet responded to Sawant’s latest assault.

Notably, in the 2019 Lok Sabha election, Omraje became victorious against Padmasinha Patil’s son, Ranajagitsinha. He had previously defeated Ranajagitsinha in the 2009 assembly elections, but he subsequently suffered a setback in the subsequent assembly election.

Omraje and Archana are directly competing for the Lok Sabha seat of Osmanabad, where elections are set on May 7.
