On July 28, the Tamil Nadu BJP will begin a six-month padayatra called “En Mann, En Makkal” (My Land, My People), in an effort to secure a clear victory for party leader Narendra Modi to be re-elected as prime minister for a third term in 2024.

According to BJP state president K Annamalai, the party’s top national leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will commence the election campaign at the temple town of Rameswaram on Friday evening. The campaign will cover 234 assembly seats in the state.

“To reach all 39 Parliamentary seats, the campaign will be run in five stages. We have scheduled its conclusion for January 11, 2024, just before the Lok Sabha elections. The campaign would start on July 29 from Rameswaram when Amit Shahji is inaugurated, Annamalai informed reporters here.

At least one central minister will speak at each of the 10 major rallies scheduled during the yatra, according to Annamalai, who will lead the padayatra traveling more than 1,770 kilometers on foot and the remaining distance in the rural districts by car.

To guarantee that Modiji gets re-elected for a third consecutive term, “We will emphasize the accomplishments of the Prime Minister and ask for support from the populace. We will also outline the BJP’s community-specific initiatives for the benefit of the populace, he said.

According to the BJP state chairman, around 1 lakh copies of the book “What Did Modi Do” would be given out to the populace.

According to party state vice president Karu Nagarajan, the saffron party seeks to engage the populace, wean them off of the DMK’s sway, and draw them closer to the BJP.
