Rajnath Prays For The Welfare Of Missing Army Personnel In Sikkim’s Cloudburst

On Wednesday, after a cloudburst caused flash floods in the Teesta river, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh prayed for the safety of the army soldiers who went missing in Sikkim.

Singh called the Sikkim glacial lake breach at Lonak “deeply heart-wrenching” and stated that rescue and relief efforts are still going on despite the exceptionally severe weather.

Following the flash flood that the Teesta river basin experienced on Wednesday as a result of a cloudburst, authorities reported that 23 soldiers were missing.

According to the Army’s eastern command, 23 soldiers went missing after the floods.

“A flash flood occurred in the Teesta River in the Lachen valley as a result of an abrupt cloud burst above Lhonak Lake in North Sikkim. There have been some impacted army installations along the valley, and investigations are ongoing to determine specifics, the statement stated.
