Rajnath will go to J&K today to assess security

Days after a devastating terror attack in the Poonch area claimed the lives of four Army troops, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to visit Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. Manoj Pande, the Chief of Army Staff, is already in Jammu.

Singh “is likely to take stock of the security situation in the region post terror strike,” according to sources.
In the meanwhile, the Army has been working hard to find the terrorists responsible for last week’s attack in Poonch, which claimed the lives of four troops.

They were also instructed by the Chief of Army Staff to persevere in the face of all difficulties. General Pande advised the commanders to carry out all operations in the “most professional manner” after a conversation with ground-based officers.
