Ramesh Bidhuri’s nomination as Tonk in-charge is criticized by the opposition as “BJP rewarding hate”

Controversial Ramesh Bidhuri, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party who recently made news for his comments in the Lok Sabha on Muslim MP Kunwar Danish Ali of the BSP, has been named the leader of the BJP election campaign in the Tonk district of Rajasthan. The BJP has been criticized by the opposition parties for “rewarding hate” and for its “Sneha Yatra” outreach program to minorities.

In Tonk, a Gurjar-dominated region in Rajasthan, the BJP is counting on Bidhuri, a Gurjar himself, to win over his community’s voters. According to the 2011 census, the district also has a Muslim population of over 1%. One of Tonk’s four seats is represented by the Gurjar politician Sachin Pilot, a leader in the Congress.

Bidhuri was there earlier on Wednesday in Jaipur for a meeting of the party’s coordination committee for the Tonk district, which was presided over by CP Joshi, the head of the Rajasthan BJP.

opposition criticizes selection of Bidhuri

TMC MP Mahua Moitra responded to the news by questioning PM Modi’s Sneha Yatra for minorities and claiming that Bidhuri had been rewarded for his anti-Islamic comments in the Lok Sabha.

Knowing it! For calling Muslim MPs “Bhadwa” and “Katwa” in the Lok Sabha, Ramesh Bidhuri received praise. How does the BJP offer a showcaused person a new role?

Mr. Narendra Modi Is this your Sneha Yatra or your charitable work for minorities? On X, previously known as Twitter, she posted.

In response to Moitra’s article, Congress politician Jayram Ramesh said that PM Modi’s “Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas” is a publicity stunt.

What took happened in the Lok Sabha?

Ramesh Bidhuri insulted Danish Ali of the BSP with racist insults on September 21 during a discussion in the Lok Sabha over Chandrayaan 3’s success. His comments were removed from the records of the Parliament, and Speaker Om Birla allegedly threatened him with harsh punishment if he repeated his behavior.

His comments caused widespread uproar, and the BJP MP’s suspension was demanded by the opposition parties. Danish Ali, a BSP member of parliament, also wrote to Speaker Birla to ask that the Lok Sabha Privileges Committee be informed about Bidhuri’s comments.
