‘Removed Saree Pins And…’: Victim Discusses Experience Amid Prajwal Revanna ‘Sex Video’ Row

Bengaluru: Following the appearance of news about an alleged sex scandal, Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, the grandson of former prime minister HD Deve Gowda, became embroiled in controversy. Despite the formation of a Special Investigation Team to look into the situation, the MP insisted that the films be altered.

Following the purportedly lewd recordings of Prajwal Revanna going viral in Hassan, the chief minister was requested to form a special inquiry team by the Karnataka State Commission for Women. A special investigative team (SIT) was established by the state government to look into the claimed scandal.

In a post on the microblogging site X, Siddaramaiah said that the government has decided to create a special investigation team (SIT) to look into the Prajwal Revanna indecent video issue. In Hassan area, there are pornographic videos going around that seem to show women being sexually attacked. In light of this, the government was requested in a letter by the Chairperson of the Women’s Commission to launch a SIT inquiry. They requested that this decision be made, and it was.

Victim Talks About Her Experience
A complaint was lodged against Prajwal Revanna and his father, HD Revanna by the victim, who was employed at Revanna’s residence. The lady said that after seeing the recordings going around, she found the strength to submit a complaint.

The lady said that during the fourth month of her job, Prajwal Revanna started calling her to his quarters.

In a home with six female employees, we felt anxious every time Prajwal Revanna came home. Even our male coworkers advised us to proceed with care. HD Revanna used to invite the ladies to the storeroom and give them fruits while touching them, whenever his wife wasn’t around. She said, “He used to take off saree pins and rape ladies.

Additionally, according to the complaint, Prajwal Revanna misbehaved with her daughter during a video conversation.

The complainant said, “My daughter blocked his number after making repeated calls.”

The Indian Penal Code (IPC) includes the appropriate sections—354A (sexual harassment), 354D (stalking), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 509 (outraging modesty of a woman)—under which the complaint has been filed.

Slugfest Politics “We are hanging our heads in shame,” said D K Shivakumar, the deputy chief minister of Karnataka. I learned that he had “escaped” from the media. This offense is not forgiven. It’s a shameful situation. He is an MP and the previous prime minister’s grandson. The past prime minister had represented the same electorate that he did.

The identity of the person leading the Special Investigation Team (SIT) established to look into the lewd video controversy purportedly involving the Hassan MP would be made public shortly, according to Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara.

It is said that Prajwal Revanna departed the nation for Germany. G Parameshwara commented on allegations that Prajwal Revanna had fled the nation, saying, “I was told that he has left the country.” From now on, the SIT will handle it. It is the responsibility of the SIT to bring him back to India and conduct an investigation if a government order is declared.

In response, Congress MLA Rizwan Arshad said that “action will be taken no matter how powerful an individual is.”

“The recordings, in my opinion, show really severe instances of force and brutality against women. They will be thoroughly reviewed, and appropriate action will be taken. We’re going to take action, regardless of who he is or how strong he is,” Arshad said.

“Doctored Videos”
Prajwal Revanna, the MP for Hassan, submitted a complaint on Sunday, alleging that the recordings going around had been altered. The tapes, according to him, have been altered and are being shared in an effort to “tarnish his image and poison the minds of voters.”

The BJP-led NDA’s JD(S) put up Prajwal in the Hassan by-election, which was held on April 26.
