Robbers are nabbed; two are detained, while three escape

On Saturday, the Chabal police apprehended a group of five thieves who were based in the hamlet of Pandori Ran Singh. After receiving a tip about the gang’s movements, a police team under the command of Assistant Sub-Inspector Baldev Raj detained two of the group’s members, while the other three were able to flee the scene. The thieves who were apprehended, according to the police, were Binder Singh Binna and Lovpreet Singh Labhu, both of Pandori Sidhwan village.

The burglars’ possessions included a datar (a sharp knife) and a kirpan, according to the police. The three thieves who were able to flee the scene were identified as Bainka, a resident of Pandori Ran Singh village, and Manna and Lavi, both of Pandori Sidhwan village.

When two of the gang’s members were taken into custody, the police said the group was plotting a crime.

Following their Sunday court appearance, the two criminals were placed on a two-day police remand. Five gang members were the subject of an Indian Penal Code prosecution under Sections 399 and 402.
