Shahbad Dairy Murder: Court Prolongs Arrested Person’s Three-Day Interrogation

The defendants in the Shahbad Dairy murder case had their incarceration-based questioning extended by a judge here on Thursday for a further three days.

Sahil (20) was presented to the house of the serving metropolitan magistrate for security concerns, according to court authorities.

In full presence of onlookers, Sahil fatally bludgeoned Sakshi, 16, with a concrete block in Shahbad Dairy, northwest Delhi, on Sunday evening after stabbing her more than 20 times. She had 34 wounds on her body, and the police said her skull was broken.

Late on Monday night, Sahil was apprehended in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, and transported to the capital.

On Tuesday, on-call Metropolitan Magistrate Jyoti Nain gave the police permission to question Sahil while he was being held for two days.

Because the crime’s weapon had not been found and the accused was continually altering his stories, police had already requested his detention.
