TDP is eager to win a seat in the Vizianagaram Lok Sabha

In light of the impending Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, the TDP high command has initiated a search for possible candidates to challenge the YSRC for the Vizianagaram Lok Sabha seat.

The top brass of the TDP has started a thorough evaluation of the candidates’ popularity, kindness, and social and financial standing as they vie for the Vizianagaram Lok Sabha seat.

The district’s lone seat with seven Assembly segments is Vizianagaram, which includes Rajam and Etcherla from the former Srikakulam district.

When Vizianagaram was split off from the Bobbili Lok Sabha seat in 2008 by the Delimitation Commission of India, Botcha Jhansi, a member of the Congress at the time, became the first MP representing the state in the Lok Sabha in 2009.

Later, while the TDP was in an alliance with the NDA, Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju of the TDP served as the Union Minister of Civil Aviation after winning the Vizianagaram Lok Sabha seat in 2014. However, Bellana Chandra Sekhar of YSRC defeated Ashok Gajapathi in 2019.

According to information obtained, the governing YSRC is considering giving Majji Srinivasarao (Chinna Seenu), a member of the Kapu community, or incumbent MP Bellana Chandra Sekhar the seat in the Vizianagaram Lok Sabha.

In a similar vein, the TDP is purportedly contemplating offering Kadagala Anand Kumar the ticket in order to find a formidable opponent among the Kapu community.

Ashok Gajapathi and his daughter Aditi Gajapathi Raju are other deserving contenders who are probably going to be given the ticket.

Anand Kumar is a well-known realtor with a solid political background. In addition to running many educational institutions and a software firm, he is well-known in the region for his social and charity endeavors.

Senior Denkada Mandal leader Kandi Chandra Sekhar is another contender the TDP is thinking about. In addition, he is a member of the Kapu community and has experience in real estate.

“The people of Vizianagaram are fed up with the ruling YSRC and the incompetence of sitting MP Bellana Chandra Sekhar,” a prominent Nellimarla politician told TNIE. When choosing a worthy candidate for the section, the TDP high leadership need to use sound judgment. In addition to Ashok Gajapathi Raju, the TDP is thinking about awarding Anand Kumar the ticket.
