The Annual Brahmotsavam of the Sri Venkateswara Temple at Tirumala Begins with Sacred Rituals

The annual Brahmotsavam festival, which began on September 18, is now being held at the Sri Venkateswara Temple in the Andhra Pradesh hill town of Tirumala in the Tirupati district. The priests undertake the ceremony known as Ankurarpanam, which literally translates to “sowing the seed,” in advance of this blessed yearly occurrence. Up through September 26th, the Srivari Salatkala Brahmotsavam 2023 event will be held. One of the most significant devotional occasions is the yearly Brahmotsavams. This is because Lord Brahma is said to have started it.

Lord Venkateswara is said to be Lord Vishnu, Lord Ram, and Lord Krishna during this Kalyug period. He is thus worshiped on this day since he represents these lords. The Hanuman statue is facing the Sri Venkateswara shrine and is positioned in a salutation stance for the same purpose. Hanuman is regarded as Lord Ram’s greatest devotee.

Some people think Lord Venkateswara enjoys ornamentation. On this day, the priests put various flowers and garlands on the Lord’s cars. Donors and devotees gather the Kuruveri blossoms, which are seldom seen in coastal places. Garlands are created by tying the material together. Additionally, devotees decorate unique malas for Lord Shiva. Special flowers are sent from Tamil Nadu’s coastal regions and used to adorn Lord Shiva.

On September 18, the priests carried out the Ankurarpana ritual—a sowing-seeds-before-the-lord ceremony—in the temple’s Yagashala. This ceremony is performed before to every Vedic holiday, including this one, in accordance with Agama Shastra. On this day, it is thought that praying to God and letting fresh crops grow would benefit the whole country. On that day, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, presented the clothing to Lord Venkateswara on behalf of the state. Additionally, additional preparations were made by the temple administration for the chief minister’s visit to Tirumala temple.
