The Bahujan community should seize state and federal authority to demand their rights: Mayawati

Mayawati, the former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and current head of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), emphasized on Friday that in order to successfully bring about social and economic transformation, Bahujan Samaj must seize power at the federal and state levels.

Following her Friday homage to the party’s founder, Kanshi Ram, on his 90th birthday, Mayawati said that Bahujan Samaj must keep up the fight against casteist forces in order to survive several plots.

She urged the BSP workers to put in their all in order to win the Lok Sabha elections, stating that in order to get the master key of power, one must be willing to sacrifice one’s body, mind, and finances.

It would be suicidal for the Bahujan Samaj to depend on the casteist and pro-capitalist opposition parties’ machinations, claims, and pledges in order to be active in the elections, she said.

According to the BSP chief, the government now speaks a lot about the interests of the OBC group after the SC and ST, yet their quota backlog has been unfilled for years. As a result, she argued, the Bahujan community’s influence on policymaking has diminished, and in order to alter public opinion, political will and thought were required.

She claimed that the opponents of the BSP administration never liked the many monuments, locations, parks, institutions, colleges, hospitals, and new districts built in honor of BSP founder Kanshi Ram. Many people had their names altered as soon as their country was established. Without naming anybody, she said that the district of Kanshiram Nagar had a new name.

Akhilesh Yadav, the president of the Samajwadi Party, also paid respect to the Dalit legend on the occasion of Kashi Ram’s birth.

On social media, Akhilesh Yadav said, “We pay our respects and heartfelt tribute on the birth anniversary of respected Shri Kanshiram ji, who struggled throughout his life to provide rights to the Dalits, the deprived, and the exploited.”

On this day, Kanshi Ram should get the highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna, according to former SP politician and founder of the Rashtriya Shoshit Samaj Party Swami Prasad Maurya.
