Today, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for the Varanasi International Cricket Stadium; important information

The International Cricket Stadium’s foundation stone was set on Saturday in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, praised the stadium project as a “golden chapter” for Kashi. He also disclosed Modi’s visitation schedule for his state.

“Another glorious chapter will be added to the history of Baba Shri Vishwanath Ji’s holy city Kashi tomorrow. Tomorrow, respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially lay the cornerstone for the around Rs 451 crore “International Cricket Stadium” in Varanasi, Adityanath posted on X (previously Twitter).

The Prime Minister will arrive at the Rudraksh International Cooperation and Convention Centre later, around 3.15 p.m., and take part in the Kashi Sansad Sanskritik Mahotsav 2023’s concluding ceremony. PM Modi will dedicate 16 Atal Awasiya Vidyalayas constructed around Uttar Pradesh to the nation during his visit to his congressional district.

The Varanasi International Stadium: Everything You Need To Know

– To purchase the land for the project, the UP government paid Rs 121 crore. The stadium, which can hold 30,000 people, will be built at a cost of Rs 330 crore by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). There will be 7 fields at the stadium.

– The designs for the crescent-shaped roof coverings, trident-shaped floodlights, ghat steps-based seats, and Bilvipatra-shaped metallic sheets on the exterior of this stadium were created with Lord Shiva in mind.

-Notable cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri, and many more are expected to attend the event. Important BCCI representatives including President Roger Binny, Vice President Rajiv Shukla, and Secretary Jay Shah will also be present.

According to reports, the stadium’s spectator seating section would be fashioned like the recognizable steps of Varanasi’s ghats. The stadium, which will be built in the Rajatalab neighborhood next to the Ring Road, is anticipated to be finished and used by December 2025.

– This will be the third international cricket stadium in Uttar Pradesh, after those in Kanpur and Lucknow.
