Under the BJP-JJP, inflation and corruption are rising: Randeep Surjewala

Rajya Sabha MP Randeep Surjewala launched a harsh assault on the BJP-JJP coalition government in Haryana today, claiming that the people wanted the Congress to retake power at the federal and state levels since the administration has failed on all fronts. At the ‘Badlav’ demonstration in Pundri, Surjewala spoke to a packed house and said that the state and federal governments had been robbing the working class of their money for the last ten years. The farmers have been duped by them.

He said that the state was rife with corruption and that inflation had shattered all previous records. Whether it was LPG cylinders, gasoline, diesel, or other commodities, the cost of living has been rising daily, making it harder for people to support themselves. In addition, he blamed the government for preventing the farmers from traveling to Delhi, saying that the farmers’ concerns had to be taken seriously and that they ought to be given the opportunity to voice them.

“To silence their voices, farmers are being targeted with tear gas shells and gunshots. Says Surjewala, “I urge that the government listen to them and deal with their problems.

He also brought up the subject of rising unemployment, claiming that young people are risking their lives by traveling overseas via “donkey routes” since the government has failed to provide them work.
