“A Small Amount of Relief,” Rishabh Pant Speaks Happily After Delhi Capitals End Their Losing Run

The captain of the Delhi Capitals, Rishabh Pant, has said that he wants his group to think like winners and has emphasized the importance of Jake Fraser-McGurk to the group. He said that, regardless of the outcome, he wants his team to battle like champions.

He continued by saying that there have been times when Delhi has fallen short of expectations and that the players must accept accountability for their actions.
In an open post-game speech, Pant highlighted the team’s desire for victory while also expressing relief and resolve. With a partnership of 77 runs, Fraser-McGurk (55 off 35 balls) and Pant (41) decisively defeated the hosts and ensured Delhi’s second IPL 2024 triumph.

Speaking on the bowling performance, Pant emphasized the need for togetherness and group accountability in addition to acknowledging the need for consistency.

“We’re relieved, but we really wanted to win. I told the youngsters that we must continue to fight hard and think like champions. “During the post-match presentation, Pant stated, “We have periods when we are not up to the mark, and certain people have to accept responsibility for that.

We cling to one other as a unit. You have control over some things, but we don’t. Regarding the lineup, I believe we are approaching the ideal starting lineup, although this group has sustained a great deal of injuries. But you can’t keep whining about that, Pant continued.

Known for his aggressive style, Fraser-McGurk scored his first runs in the IPL by smashing a length ball from Yash Thakur over deep mid-wicket. In the following over, he backed it up with another six.

Prithvi Shaw (32) seemed to be in fantastic form, but as soon as Ravi Bishnoi joined the game, he quickly removed the opener, and Delhi dropped to 63/2. For a while, the Lucknow bowlers were able to dominate the visitors while Fraser-McGurk was having trouble hitting fours.

In the 11th over, Pant, however, not only reached the 3,000-run mark in the IPL but also grabbed Delhi’s first four wickets in 29 balls by lifting the ball over Bishnoi’s head for a straight six.

Pant played several daring shots, including a reverse scoop off Marcus Stoinis, showing a hint of his former self. His powerful blows relieved Fraser-McGurk’s pressure, allowing him to strike fellow countryman Stoinis for a hat-trick of sixes, bringing the score to almost a run-a-ball.

On April 17 in Ahmedabad, DC will take on the Gujarat Titans in a game where they want to continue their winning streak.
