Ahead of the ICC World Cup in 2023, PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf starts a new controversy with India

Zaka Ashraf, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), recently sparked a new controversy by referring to their neighbors as “Dushman Mulk,” a description that has since gone viral on social media. He made the comment a few days after declaring that India and Pakistan would grow together in cricket during a BCCI delegation’s visit to Lahore. Following the Pakistan cricket team, captained by Babar Azam, receiving a warm welcome in Hyderabad ahead of the next ICC World Cup 2023, Ashraf made his remarks a few days later. Even celebrities like Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammed Rizwan were shocked by the response they received in India.

Ashraf was seen speaking to the media on the new central contracts for PCB in the video. We provided these contracts to our players with love and compassion, the speaker said. Never in Pakistan’s history have players received a prize for this much money.

My goal was to raise the players’ spirits while they traveled to hostile nations for tournaments, such as “Dushman Mulk.” Even though Ashraf didn’t refer to India specifically as “Dushman Mulk,” his statements were undoubtedly directed at that country given that Pakistan will be hosting its World Cup there.

The Pakistan cricket team is touring India for the first time in seven years. Earlier, when a BCCI group visited Lahore for the Asia Cup 2023, Ashraf spoke to the media alongside vice-president Rajeev Shukla and Indian board president Roger Binny on the relationship between the PCB and BCCI.

He had said, “This is a wonderful time. Rajiv Shukla and Roger Binny are both welcome in Pakistan. I would want to express my sincere gratitude to the PCB for inviting BCCI to dinner.

“In this manner, the bond between the two boards will deepen. They arrived in Pakistan today, and if BCCI extends an invitation, we will visit India in the future. The PCB chief had said on September 4 that “we will grow together and Pakistan-India relations will grow.”

against Friday, Pakistan will take against New Zealand in the first exhibition game.
