Blair Tickner is replaced by Jacob Duffy in the New Zealand team for the UAE T20Is

Due to family obligations, fast bowler Blair Tickner has been cut from New Zealand’s T20I team for the forthcoming three-match series against UAE.

Duffy, who last represented New Zealand during the country’s January tour of India, will take Tickner’s spot in the team and depart for Dubai later today, according to a statement from New Zealand Cricket (NZC).

After his baby was born late last week, Tickner was supposed to join the team in Dubai, but he will instead remain in New Zealand to be with his wife.

“After speaking with Blair, we are a family atmosphere, and we strongly support his being at home with Sarah and tiny Florence. We’re happy to be able to help Blair in being at home at this unique moment for new parents, the delivery of a child.

Jacob has previously played for other BlackCaps teams and has always performed well on the international stage. He has strong talents and experience, and we are eager to have him join our team in Dubai, according to head coach Gary Stead.

At the Dubai International Stadium, New Zealand will play the first of three games versus UAE on August 17.

Tim Southee (captain), Adi Ashok, Chad Bowes, Mark Chapman, Jacob Duffy, Dean Foxcroft, Kyle Jamieson, Ben Lister, Cole McConchie, Jimmy Neesham, Rachin Ravindra, Mitchell Santner, Tim Seifert, and Will Young make up the New Zealand team.
