“Not Just a Fair Play Award, But an Oscar Too!”: An Indian legend’s hilarious commentary on Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli embracing during RCB vs. KKR

During the planned pause, Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli were seen cuddling, which caused a stir on the internet.

On commentary, Ravi Shastri said that the scene merited a fair play award, while Sunil Gavaskar made a joke about the two getting an Oscar.

Shastri said, “KKR deserves a Fair Play award for this hug between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir.”

Gavaskar joked, “Not just a Fair Play award, but an Oscar.”

Regarding the match, on Friday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, KKR comfortably beat RCB by 7 wickets with 19 balls left in their opening encounter of the upcoming IPL 2024.

Venkatesh Iyer scored his first half-century of the year, Sunil Narine blasted a 22-ball 47, and captain Shreyas Iyer concluded the contest.

Venkatesh (50) and Shreyas (39 not out) made sure KKR won with some gas left in the tank after Narine set the tone for the team with a scorching performance on a wicket that had eased out in the second innings with the dew also playing a part.

With 19 balls remaining, KKR defeated RCB at the Chinnaswamy, securing their sixth straight victory at the team’s home ground. It was an emphatic triumph. They have now won two straight games this season.

As a result, KKR rose to the second position behind Chennai Super Kings in the points standings. RCB will be frustrated with how they lost, since it was their second loss in three games.

On a decent field, KKR bowled well, limiting RCB to 182/6 with the help of former captain Virat Kohli, who batted through the innings and made an incredible unbeaten 83. With the innings being led by Virat Kohli, who smashed four boundaries and four maximums, Cameron Green and Dinesh Karthik made light cameo appearances, and RCB rallied to post a respectable score. Best KKR bowler was Andre Russell (2-29).
