Will Royal Challengers Bengaluru be able to pass the Rajasthan Royals’ bowling test in the 2024 IPL?

Jaipur: The Rajasthan Royals have only played three games in the competition this season, but already their skill with the ball is evident. The three victories demonstrate how the Royals’ fortunes have improved because of the efforts of the group of six bowlers, which includes Trent Boult, Nandre Burger, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravichandran Ashwin, Sandeep Sharma, and Avesh Khan.
The team captained by Sanju Samson has defeated the Mumbai Indians by six wickets and won by 20 runs against the Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals, respectively.

Their next task is a home game on Saturday at Sawai Mansingh Stadium against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
The Royals’ formidable bowling assault will try to feast on Faf Du Plessis’ team, who come into the game with three victories and three defeats under their belt. The form of the older players other than Virat Kohli should alarm the visitors since none of them have lit the stage on fire so far.

For the Royals, spinners Chahal and Ashwin control the middle overs if it’s quicks Boult and Nandre with the new ball, who lay the groundwork for the powerplay. Burger has exceeded everyone’s expectations in his first IPL season, but the three seasoned players are just carrying on from where they left off.
However, the role seamers Sandeep and Avesh have played in the last overs has been particularly noteworthy. They don’t get to bowl up front as they did in their prior stays with other organisations. The manner in which Sandeep and Avesh performed in the last overs has helped the Royals management, which now has a clear understanding of their roles.

“Sandeep’s role has altered since he joined the Royals, and he has performed well as a death (overs) bowler. Leg-spinner Chahal stated of the previous season, “He bowled the final over against Mahi Bhai (MS Dhoni) and helped RR win the game (successfully defended 20 runs at Chepauk).”

Additionally, Avesh has performed well in the position he has played for many teams throughout the years. Furthermore, I want to emphasise that all six bowlers have contributed to the victories thus far, not just these two.

Someone like Burger, who bowls at 150 kph, is a huge benefit, Chahal said.
“It’s never easy to take on a left-arm bowler with a decent pace.”
