UP STATE

762 civic entities will undergo transformation

As part of a series of attempts to make Uttar Pradesh a trillion dollar economy in the next five years, the state’s 762 municipal bodies are being developed by the Yogi Adityanath-led administration of the state.

All municipal corporations, including the 10 smart cities existing in the state, are now transforming into safe and advanced cities at a fast rate.

On Wednesday, Chief Secretary Durgashankar Mishra said that the three pillars of social, environmental, and economic growth are the foundation upon which cities are being developed.

According to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Mission to Movement,” the Yogi Government is giving education, health care, employment, business, general infrastructure, clean drinking water, hospitals, power, roads, and housing first priority in the development of cities.

The UP administration is concentrating on developing all 762 of the state’s cities along the lines of smart cities in an effort to transform every development initiative into a popular movement.

The Chief Secretary asserts that the government’s definition of intelligence revolves on “getting more from less,” which entails resource optimization. It entails paying close attention to infrastructure and technology.

For instance, the connected Control and Command Center (ICCC) has already been connected with all of the state’s smart cities and municipal corporations. The performance of the ICCC system was outstanding during the COVID-19 epidemic. Today, however, the whole city can be run under one roof thanks to this technology.

Social sustainability, according to the Chief Secretary, attempts to include the general public in the development process. He said, “People should actively engage in development projects, comprehend the significance of the environment, link development activities with our traditional Indian values, and participate in the development work.”

It is remarkable that Uttar Pradesh contains a network of rivers with water all year round, the majority of which originate in the Himalayas. However, many rivers had lost their vitality as a result of the weakening of human connection to them and had become dumping sites for trash and industrial pollutants.

However, thanks to the efforts of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, more than 50 rivers in Uttar Pradesh have recently been revitalized.

Similar to this, the Yogi government’s endeavor has resulted in the conversion of several lakes and ponds that were all but dead into Amrit Sarovars. In addition, Amrit Vans have been erected close by, and ghats have been constructed beside the ponds.

In other words, through incorporating the public, the development process is being linked to the national ideals since without a connection to the populace, growth cannot be sustained.

By 2070, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to reach net-zero carbon emissions. The Uttar Pradesh government is dedicated to make people’s lifestyles in the state environmentally friendly.

The Chief Secretary said, “We should not exhaust our resources. The government is putting a lot of effort into changing people’s behaviors to improve environmental sustainability by adhering to the concepts of reducing, reusing, and recycling resources.

The government also has its whole attention focused on developing new systems via innovation in economic sustainability. The state’s young have an increasingly strong urge to innovate right now. As a result, new businesses are appearing quickly.

Innovations are occurring on a large scale throughout all industries, except those that are directly tied to technology, such as horticulture, automotive, electricity, road, and real estate. When innovations are in line with society and the environment, sustainability is a factor. The government is focusing on the overall sustainable development of the economy, the environment, and society.
