Another blow to the I.N.D.I.A bloc, Pallavi Patel of Apna Dal-K suggests she could join the BJP-led NDA in Uttar Pradesh

UP Lok Sabha elections 2024: In a further blow to the I.N.D.I.A bloc today (March 22), Pallavi Patel, an MLA from Sirathu, Uttar Pradesh and head of the Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) party, hinted at joining the BJP-led NDA in Uttar Pradesh.

The Congress party must now make a decision about the partnership. Apna Dal-Kamerawadi in Uttar Pradesh is experiencing the same things that occurred to Nitish Kumar in the I.N.D.I.A bloc in Bihar.

There are currently no discussions with the NDA. Our company will take an offer into consideration, Dr. Pallavi Patel said.

Akhilesh Yadav: No coalition with Apna Dal (K) for the Lok Sabha elections

The Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) announced their candidates for three Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, but the Samajwadi Party said on Thursday that it will not form an alliance with the group headed by Krishna Patel for the general election of 2024.

In answer to a query, Akhilesh Yadav, the president of the Samajwadi Party (SP), said, “The alliance between the Apna Dal (K) and the Samajwadi Party was for the 2022 Assembly polls and not the 2024 elections.”

The Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) unveiled their candidates earlier on Wednesday for the Lok Sabha seats in Kaushambi, Mirzapur, and Phulpur. “National President Krishna Patel presided over a meeting of the Apna Dal (K) central executive committee,” the party claimed in a news release. The group resolved that the I.N.D.I.A. bloc would run for three seats.”

When asked about the Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) revealing their candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, Rajendra Chaudhary, a spokesperson for the Samajwadi Party, said, “There was no talk with them for the general elections; the SP had tied up with Apna Dal (K) in the Assembly elections.”

Rajendra S. Bind is the SP’s nominee for the Mirzapur seat. The Samajwadi Party and the Congress have reached a seat-sharing agreement in Uttar Pradesh wherein the Samajwadi Party would field candidates for 63 seats and the Congress will fight 17 seats.

The Trinamool Congress, a member of the INDIA bloc, has been granted the Bhadohi seat by the Samajwadi Party. In cooperation with the SP, the Apna Dal (K) ran Pallavi Patel as its candidate in the 2022 assembly elections.

Discord between Apna Dal and SP
Pallavi Patel insisted that she would only vote for PDA candidate of the Samajwadi Party, Ramaji Lal Suman, during the last Rajya Sabha election, exposing the split between the Apna Dal and the SP.

Anupriya Patel, a union minister and president of Apna Dal (Sonelal), is the representative for the Mirzapur seat. BJP MPs now hold the Lok Sabha seats of Phulpur and Kaushambi. In the 2019 general election, the Samajwadi Party candidates secured the second position in each of the three seats.
