Man kills sister in Uttar Pradesh after objecting to their relationship and takes severed head to police station

A young guy was detained here on Friday as he made his way to the police station with his sister’s severed head, who was reportedly murdered by him over their relationship, according to the police.

Following an altercation between Riyaz (22) and his sister Aashifa (18), the event happened in the Mithwara hamlet in the Fatehpur region.

According to Additional Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Mishra, Riyaz reportedly used a sharp object to cut his sister’s neck and was carrying her head to the police station when he was detained.

According to Mishra, Aashifa and Chand Babu, a local of the same area, just eloped. On the basis of a complaint made by the woman’s relatives, the police eventually located Aashifa and detained Babu, he said.

After gathering the necessary evidence, a police squad went to the murder scene and sent the corpse for a postmortem, according to the ASP. Locals said that Riyaz was against his sister’s relationship, and the two often argued about it, according to the police.

According to the ASP, a case has been filed and the suspect has been taken into custody.
