UP Husband offers his wife triple talaq after she tells him she donated a kidney

Gonda: Following her kidney donation to her sick brother, a guy inexplicably offered his wife triple talaq over WhatsApp. The woman resides in the Bairiyahi hamlet in Uttar Pradesh, while the husband works in Saudi Arabia.

The tragedy started when the wife decided to donate one of her kidneys in an attempt to save her brother. She had no idea that the kind deed would serve as the impetus for her marriage to fail.

Not long after she sent him a message informing him of the kidney donation, her husband granted her triple talaq.

Police have opened a file and threatened legal action in response to the woman’s accusation. In 2019, the nation ruled that the practice of triple talaq was unlawful and unconstitutional.
The Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act forbids triple talaq and carries a maximum three-year prison sentence. According to the Supreme Court, anticipatory bail may be granted in certain situations as long as the court hears from the complainant lady before granting pre-arrest bail.

The government has previously established committees to examine the issue of triple talaq and the necessity for a unified civil code, which has been reignited by the most recent instance. Having a common law that is not based on religion for all of the nation’s residents is known as a uniform civil code. Personal laws and rules pertaining to adoption, inheritance, and succession are probably covered under one unified code.
